Last weekend, the Chef Basket I had ordered online arrived at my door. I was eager to try it out to see if it really works as well as the company claims it does. Before making my purchase, I had read a number of feedback reviews, which seemed very positive. My main reason for wanting the basket was all about kitchen safety while cooking.
I have two small children in the house, ages eight and nine years old, who help me prepare dinner almost every night. We typically steam our vegetables and cook pasta in a large pot on the stove. As a concerned mom, I am always worried that the children will burn themselves as I am pouring the boiling hot water into a colander to drain the food. When I saw the Chef Basket on an infomercial, I thought this basket was the ideal product that would solve my problem.
How Does the Chef Basket Work?
The makers of Chef Basket state that the product can be used for steaming, rinsing and straining, along with deep-frying in a large pot. It is collapsible for easy storage and instantly transforms itself for multiple kitchen uses. Because of its design, the handles stay cool even when being used in boiling water or when frying. When used as a colander or strainer, it easily folds down to rest on its handles. This allows you to wash and drain fruits and vegetables, along with strain, rinse and store your food in the refrigerator or on the countertop.
What Their Customers Say:
“We have used this a couple of times and we love it. The handles do stay cool and it works as advertised.” – Edward Dils, Amazon.com
“I used it to boil potatoes and let me tell you…I LOVED IT!” – E. Embry, Amazon.com
How Well Does It Work?
In the first week we have been using it, we love it. Our favorite dish is Italian ziti made with penne noodles, Ragu or Prego spaghetti sauce, and Parmesan cheese. My oldest child filled the pot with water, placed it on the stove and turned the heat all the way up. He then filled the basket with the penne and slowly dropped it into the pot of boiling water. The handles simply fold out and away from the heat.
When they were done cooking, he just grabbed ahold of the cool handles, lifted the basket out of the water and poured the noodles onto a serving platter. I was happy that we could leave the pot of hot water on the stove until it had cooled down before pouring it into the sink. It certainly proved its value to me by making it a safer work environment in the kitchen.
Receive Three Bonuses With Your Order
I ordered my Chef Basket over the Internet at the company’s official website. They offered to send me three additional bonuses if I paid a small shipping and handling fee. With my order, I got the basket and received an additional second basket no charge. Along with that, I also received a recipe book filled with delicious meal ideas that use the basket. My favorite bonus is the RoboStir, this amazing tool that turns inside the pot or saucepan to constantly stir my food while it cooks. Though we have only had the basket and RoboStir a week, I highly recommend the Chef Basket because of the convenience, safety, and time it saves it in the kitchen.
